The general effective date for nonemergency laws passed in the Second Special Session of the 128th Legislature is Thursday, December 13, 2018.
Please note that this Summary does not cover all legislation considered, but highlights legislative changes to Maine laws that may be relevant to your business.
This report serves as a supplement to our May publication of the 2018 Summary of New Maine Laws, which covered legislation enacted during the Second Regular Session of the 128th Legislature. Much of the work from that session was carried over to the Second Special Session. For this reason, this 2018 Supplemental Summary covers new laws enacted during the Second Special Session.
