Kathleen M. Heyer

Kathleen Heyer is an associate in the Real Estate and Litigation Groups. She focuses her practice on administrative and land use litigation and has extensive experience representing property owners, developers, and companies in a wide variety of land use matters, including boundary disputes, encroachments, title defects, and conservation issues.

Kathleen also works with clients on energy matters, including storage, LNG, and solar energy issues, at the local, state, trial court, and appellate levels.

She regularly appears before various municipal boards on behalf of clients seeking permits for development, and represents clients in both Land Court and Superior Court matters. She also handles land use-related appellate matters and administrative appeals. Kathleen has a passion for affordable housing and a strong interest in land use planning, renewable energy, and sustainable development.

Prior to joining Pierce Atwood, Kathleen was an associate at Johnson & Borenstein in Andover. She began her legal career as a law clerk to the Honorable Harry M. Grossman (retired) of the Massachusetts Land Court.

During law school, Kathleen won multiple awards and served as an associate, and later executive literary editor, for the New England Law | Boston Law Review. In her spare time, Kathleen enjoys reading, cycling, and gardening.
