We returned to our monthly breakfasts with a topic that confounds managers and human resource professionals like no other - the Americans with Disabilities Act's duty to provide reasonable accommodation.  Although the statute has been in effect for more than 20 years, changes in the law (e.g. ADAAA) and advances in medical science and technology are constantly creating new challenges for employers.

At our September breakfast, we focused on emerging case law in this area of the law, which is anything but static. Pierce Atwood attorney Katy Rand and since retired partner Meg LePage led the discussion of several hot workplace accommodation topics, including whether or when employers are required to provide light duty, telecommuting, the ADA and obesity, and website accessibility.
