Pierce Atwood LLP Announces Four New Partners
Pierce Atwood LLP is proud to announce that Rebecca West Greenfield, Marianna Putnam Liddell, Gavin McCarthy and Katharine Rand have joined the Partnership as of January 1, 2012. All four new partners were part of the same summer associate program in 2002.
Rebecca West Greenfield, originally from Brooklyn, New York, and now a resident of Portland, joined the firm as an associate in the real estate practice group in 2003. Since then she has developed a broad transactional commercial real estate practice, involving acquisitions, dispositions, development, leasing, and title and land use analysis and substantial expertise in project finance for new and existing real estate developments. Ms. Greenfield graduated cum laude from the Boston University School of Law in 2003 and magna cum laude from Amherst College in 1999 with a B.A. in Anthropology.
Marianna (Molly) Putnam Liddell, originally from Houlton, Maine, and now a resident of Yarmouth, joined the firm as an associate in 2003. Ms. Liddell is a member of the trusts and estates practice group. She works with individuals and families on estate planning, estate administration, trust administration, prenuptial agreements, guardianships and conservatorships, other probate matters, and related tax planning. Ms. Liddell graduated magna cum laude from Boston College Law School in 2003 after earning a B.A. and an M.Ed. from the University of Maine.
Gavin McCarthy, originally from Bangor, Maine, and now a resident of Portland, has been a member of the litigation group since joining the firm in 2003. His practice focuses on class action defense and construction litigation. Mr. McCarthy graduated cum laude from Boston College Law School and holds a B.A. from Haverford College.
Katharine (Katy) Rand, of Portland, joined the firm as an associate in the employment practice group in 2004 after clerking for United States District Court Judge D. Brock Hornby. Having worked in human resources and management in the private sector, Ms. Rand brings hands-on experience to her employment law practice. Her client work focuses primarily on discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and wage/hour issues. She routinely advises employers on these issues, has litigated a number of employment cases in state and federal court, and regularly represents employers before the Maine Human Rights Commission. Ms. Rand graduated summa cum laude from the University of Maine School of Law in 2003 and earned her B.A. from Davidson College.
