Michael Hernandez is an attorney in the firm’s Business and IP & Technology Practice Groups.  Capitalizing on 18 years of global experience in the telecommunications and software industries, he assists clients with a wide range of business and intellectual property transactions, including: drafting complex license agreements, privacy policies, and website terms of use; forming business entities and defining governance structures; and counseling clients on trademark clearance, prosecution, and enforcement issues.

Prior to joining Pierce Atwood, Mike worked at Telcordia Technologies (formerly Bell Communications Research and now part of Ericsson), where he held high-profile positions in marketing, technical sales, and product management.  Success in translating technical software capabilities into executive business value propositions culminated in a visible management role, where he focused on international business development, customer account management, and contract negotiations.

While in law school, Mike was the legal abstract editor for the Connecticut Insurance Law Journal; a teaching assistant in legal writing, counseling, and negotiation courses; a member of the Moot Court Board; and an executive board member of the Mock Trial Society.  He also worked as a summer associate at Pierce Atwood and The Travelers; interned at the Connecticut Urban Legal Initiative clinic; and volunteered at the Homeless Experience Legal Protection clinic, which provides free legal assistance to indigent clients.
