Marla Matthews has extensive experience in trusts and estates planning, which includes general wealth transfer, gift and estate tax planning, and business succession planning.

Marla particularly enjoys working with individuals and families, where she can collaborate with them to find practical, understandable, and efficient solutions to complex and emotionally-charged issues related to transfer of wealth and legacy planning.

In addition to estate planning, Marla has a busy guardianship practice. She frequently represents clients who are petitioning for guardianship over an incapacitated person in the probate court, and advises clients on their fiduciary duties once they are appointed as guardian.

Prior to joining Pierce Atwood, Marla was a founding partner of the law firm Myskowski & Matthews, PLLC.

Before practicing in the private sector, Marla clerked for the Honorable Associate Justice James E. Duggan of the New Hampshire Supreme Court.
