Matt Stein Named Chair of Business Practice Group

Pierce Atwood LLP is pleased to announce that firm partner Matt Stein has been named Chair of the Business Practice Group. Matt succeeds firm partner Keith Cunningham.

Prior to his new role, Matt led the firm’s fast-growing Technology Transactions practice, representing businesses of all sizes in the negotiation of complex technology and intellectual property contracts.

By understanding the practical challenges and opportunities these new technologies present and the legal frameworks that apply to them, Matt provides clear, pragmatic advice to clients in the areas of copyright, trademark, licensing, data privacy, artificial intelligence, machine learning, and more.

Matt is a long-time board member of One Longfellow Square, a nonprofit music venue in Portland, Maine, and a trustee of Maine Central Institute, an independent town academy in Pittsfield, Maine.

Matt earned his J.D. summa cum laude from University of Maine School of Law and his B.S. summa cum laude from University of Maine, Orono.
