Katie Porter Named Pierce Atwood Partner
Pierce Atwood is pleased to announce that Katie Porter, an experienced employment law attorney, has become a partner in the firm.
Katie represents private and public employers and helps emerging companies establish and maintain all aspects of their employment policies and practices. She also conducts workplace investigations and advises independent schools on legal issues impacting students.
In addition, Katie works with clients on a range of complex employment issues, including wage and hour and equal pay compliance, accommodation and leave requests, misclassification claims, and whistleblower complaints, and defends employers before federal and state administrative agencies.
Katie is a regular speaker and presenter at the firm’s ongoing employment law webinar and seminar series, writes frequently on the latest employment law news, and provides insight and analysis into federal and state employment laws and regulations.
Prior to joining Pierce Atwood, Katie was senior counsel in the Labor & Employment and Startup & Emerging Companies Practice Groups at another Maine law firm. Before that, she practiced employment law in New York City at a Wall Street law firm and an international law firm. She also served as a clerk to Honorable John A. Woodcock, Jr. of the United States District Court for the District of Maine.
Katie graduated cum laude from Hofstra School of Law and received a B.A. in International Relations from Tufts University.
