Shannon Linnehan

Shannon Linnehan is an associate in Pierce Atwood’s Environmental Practice Group specializing in environmental litigation.

Shannon’s practice encompasses a wide array of environmental and energy topics, including federal, state, and local permitting, land use disputes, administrative proceedings before regulatory bodies such as the Maine Department of Environmental Protection and Maine Public Utilities Commission, and PFAS regulation and litigation. 

Shannon has a background in environmental and commercial litigation, and deploys that experience throughout her practice to provide strategic advice to clients in both adversarial proceedings and collaborative transactions.

Shannon’s practice builds on her lifelong interest in the environmental and energy fields. She has a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering and, prior to law school, worked in Maine and Colorado as a drinking water engineer. 

During law school, Shannon focused on environmental and energy law, competing in the Jeffrey G. Miller National Environmental Moot Court Competition, where her team earned the competition’s top honors for briefing. Before joining Pierce Atwood, Shannon served as a law clerk for the Maine Supreme Judicial Court.
