Kristen Chassé
Kristen Chassé focuses her practice on sophisticated trust and estate planning, trust and estate administration, and charitable planning for individuals, families, fiduciaries, and nonprofit organizations. She advises high-net-worth individuals and families on wealth transfer strategies, including tax-efficient lifetime and testamentary planning, multigenerational planning, and structuring and drafting premarital agreements.
Kristen is recognized for her ability to navigate technically complex planning issues with an analytical approach and practical, solutions-oriented guidance. Her experience includes drafting a wide range of advanced estate planning documents and guiding clients in implementing strategies that balance tax efficiency, asset protection, and personal objectives. She also regularly works with trustees and beneficiaries, providing counsel on trust administration matters involving nuanced legal and tax considerations.
In addition to her estate planning practice, Kristen advises charitable and nonprofit organizations. She assists organizations in obtaining federal tax-exempt status under Section 501(c)(3) and counsels them on governance, compliance, and operational matters. She also works with individual clients to structure charitable gifts and charitable entities in ways that support both tax efficiency and long-term philanthropic goals.

Kristen has devoted her entire legal career to trusts and estates. Prior to joining Pierce Atwood, she practiced in the Boston office of a global law firm, representing high net worth clients in estate planning and trust administration matters. While in law school, she served as an editor of the Boston University Law Review and interned with the Office of the Maine Attorney General.
