It was a long and stormy winter.
As you may recall, we made the decision to postpone our March 13 breakfast program on accommodating disabled workers due to a snowy forecast.
The winter is over and summer is upon us. We need to make up our snow day in July!
In celebration of the long-awaited summer, we will move our last “breakfast seminar” to late afternoon with a beer and wine reception following, hopefully outside on our deck overlooking the City of Portland. The program will start at 3:30 on Thursday, July 17 and we will move to refreshments by 5:00. Come and join us and stay for some networking and good cheer.
Overview of Program:
Accommodating employees with physical and mental impairments continues to be one of HR’s greatest challenges. One reason is that the landscape is often changing. So it’s important to keep abreast of new developments in areas such as who is a disabled worker, the requirement to provide extended leaves of absence, the prohibition of maximum leave and 100% healed policies, the obligation to provide modified work schedules, modified work stations and preferential parking, the adequacy of the interactive dialogue, interference with employees’ use of prescribed medications, and the appropriate use of medical information.
Join Meg LePage and Katy Rand for a getting-up-to-date session geared specifically to the impaired worker.
While we certainly prefer to see you in person, we understand that travel and scheduling issues sometimes make attendance difficult. Therefore, this program, like all of our breakfast programs, will be available for participation by web and teleconference. However, for the summer evening on the rooftop, you will have to show up in person.
