New York Aims to Reform its Energy Vision - Will Other States Follow Suit?

REV’d and Ready – that’s the new phrase in the energy industry lexicon, recently coined by the New York Public Service Commission when it initiated “Reforming the Energy Vision,” aimed at overhauling how electricity is produced, distributed, consumed, regulated, and priced in the Empire State.

Pierce Atwood Energy partner Andrew Kaplan’s recent article in Public Utilities Fortnightly discusses this recent proceeding, which has attracted the interest of many other states. The REV will ensure – among other things -- that energy storage resources are incorporated onto the grid and are paid for the value they provide.
