Katharine E. Kohm Named Pierce Atwood Partner

Pierce Atwood LLP is pleased to announce that attorney Katharine E. Kohm has become a partner in the firm.

Katie’s practice focuses on construction law and business dispute resolution. In her construction practice, she represents owners, general contractors, design professionals, subcontractors, and others in state and federal courts and at arbitration and mediation proceedings throughout New England. Katie also offers transactional services including contract negotiation, review, and drafting.

In the business disputes area of her practice, Katie represents clients in various industries including manufacturers, food servicers, hospitals, insurers, and real property developers and property owners. She has experience defending and asserting claims involving breaches of contract, business valuation, breaches of fiduciary duties, commercial leases, employment-related disputes, and the uniform commercial code.

Prior to joining Pierce Atwood, Katie clerked for the Honorable Justice Gilbert V. Indeglia of the Rhode Island Supreme Court, and the Justices of the Rhode Island Superior Court in Providence County. Before becoming a lawyer, she worked at Camp Dresser & McKee (now CDM Smith, Inc.) as a civil and environmental engineer.

Katie graduated magna cum laude from University of Richmond School of Law, and received a B.S. in Civil Engineering from University of Virginia, where she was a member of the Chi Epsilon Honor Society.
