Corey MacDonald, CPA

Corey MacDonald oversees the finance and accounting operations of Pierce Atwood, drawing on more than 15 years of experience encompassing financial leadership, accounting, reporting, financial analysis, business operations, and strategic planning.

Corey has a broad background in financial operations, analysis, strategic planning, and process improvement, as well as compliance, risk assessment and mitigation, auditing, accounting, and financial modeling. 

Before joining Pierce Atwood, he served as Director of Finance at Portland-based SMRT Architects & Engineers, where he led the firm’s accounting and finance operations. Previously, Corey held financial leadership roles at Covetrus and spent more than a decade with BerryDunn, where he began his career as a CPA, primarily providing audit and assurance services.

Corey brings a calm, balanced, and collaborative approach to his work, with an emphasis on navigating complex challenges and identifying the best path forward. He values creative problem solving and thoughtful use of technology, with a focus on streamlining processes, improving efficiency, and developing practical solutions.
