Pierce Atwood Announces New Partners
Pierce Atwood LLP is proud to announce that Michael J. Daly, Michele E. Kenney, and Lucus A. Ritchie have joined the Partnership as of January 1, 2013.
Michael J. Daly, originally from Newport, Rhode Island, and now a resident of Portsmouth, Rhode Island, joined the firm as an associate in the litigation and admiralty and maritime practice groups in 2009. Mr. Daly practices in the firm’s Providence, RI office, where he focuses on litigation and resolution of commercial, maritime and insurance disputes. In addition to being an assistant instructor of Federal Practice/Commercial Litigation at the Roger Williams University School of Law, Mr. Daly is a frequent author and speaker on topics including federal court practice and procedure, admiralty law, and insurance coverage. He is a co-editor of a case book, Marine and Coastal Law. Mr. Daly graduated from the Roger Williams University School of Law in 2002, where he was a member of the Law Review and Moot Court Honor Society. He also holds a B.S. in Fisheries Science and a M.S. in Marine Affairs from the University of Rhode Island.
Michele E. Kenney, originally from Brooklyn, New York, and now a resident of Portsmouth, New Hampshire, joined the firm as an associate in the litigation practice group in 2008 after working as an associate in New York City. Ms. Kenney, resident in the firm’s Portsmouth office, represents businesses and individuals through all stages of commercial litigation in state and federal courts and brings a thoughtful and pragmatic approach to her practice. She served as a law clerk to the Honorable Max Rosenn of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit and the Honorable Theodore H. Katz of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York. She is on the Board of Trustees of the Portsmouth Museum of Art. Ms. Kenney graduated summa cum laude from Brooklyn Law School and earned a B.A. from the University of Chicago.
Lucus A. Ritchie, originally from Houlton, Maine and now a resident of Portland, Maine, has been a member of the litigation practice group since joining the firm in 2005.Mr. Ritchie, resident in the firm’s Portland, Maine office, represents clients in a wide variety of matters in State and Federal courts across the country, with an emphasis on complex commercial disputes, class action defense and insurance coverage for policyholders. Mr. Ritchie graduated cum laude from Lewis and Clark Law School in 2005 and earned a B.A. from Boston College.
