Pierce Atwood has a well-established Washington, DC-based energy practice, assisting clients with complex energy industry transactional and regulatory issues. Energy industry clients have long relied on Pierce Atwood for help navigating a range of complex regulatory agencies, including the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC), Department of Energy (DOE), the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), and others.

To accommodate the growth of both the energy industry sector and the firm’s client base, Pierce Atwood has recently relocated to larger offices on K Street. This larger space will allow our attorneys with SEC and CFTC expertise to more closely collaborate with our DC-based FERC experts.

From its new, larger space, Pierce Atwood will continue to represent power traders, public utilities, and natural gas and oil producers, shippers, pipelines and, end-users. And to better serve many of Pierce Atwood’s corporate clients, the DC office now incorporates an expanded White Collar and Securities Litigation practice, allowing Pierce Atwood’s corporate and litigation attorneys to interact more effectively with SEC and FINRA regulators.

Our attorneys also have extensive experience working with international financial institutions and development agencies on all types of energy issues. We routinely translate our expertise in energy market restructuring, regulation, and project finance to projects in Central and Eastern Europe, Central and South Asia, and North Africa, as well as the United States.
