USCIS Will Temporarily Suspend Premium Processing for All H-1B Petitions Starting April 3, 2017

USCIS has announced it will temporarily suspend premium processing for all H-1B petitions beginning April 3, 2017. The suspension affects only H-1B petitions. Premium processing remains available for all other types of petitions eligible for premium processing (certain I-140s, L-1s, O-1s, TNs, and others). In announcing the suspension, USCIS indicated the reason for the suspension is to allow USCIS to redirect resources from H-1B premium processing to H-1B backlog reduction on conventionally-filed petitions. USCIS has indicated the suspension could last 6 months.  For a more detailed discussion of this and other action by the Trump Administration, visit Business Immigration Under the Trump Administration.
