Pierce Atwood Launches Class Action Mediation Service Led by Boston Partner Donald R. Frederico
Pierce Atwood is pleased to launch its new Class Action Mediation Service, led by Boston partner and co-chair of the firm’s Class Action Practice Group, Donald R. Frederico. Don brings his three decades of class action experience to the role of assisting plaintiffs and defendants in resolving class action lawsuits.
Since the 1990s, Don has provided vigorous representation to defendants in class action lawsuits, earning him national recognition for class action law and procedure, and leading Pierce Atwood’s Class Action Defense Practice Group to a National Tier One Ranking from U.S. News-Best Lawyers “Best Law Firms” report for three consecutive years.
Don's successful practice is based in part on his keen ability to develop constructive working relationships with plaintiffs’ counsel while aggressively pursuing his clients’ interests. He has successfully represented clients in a wide range of class action mediations, and negotiated and drafted many class action settlements that have gained court approval, allowing the parties to eliminate the expense, risks, and delay of ongoing litigation.
Don has a long history of working with both plaintiff and defense attorneys within his class action practice, and through a variety of leadership positions. He is a past president of the Boston Bar Association, having previously founded and co-chaired the BBA’s Class Actions Committee and served as co-chair of the BBA’s Litigation Section. He is also a longstanding member of the Planning Committee of the American Bar Association’s highly-acclaimed National Institute on Class Actions, and has served as a court-appointed Special Discovery Master in complex business litigation.
