Fair Weather Clouds: Legal and Ethical Considerations of Cloud Computing
Cloud computing represents a revolutionary shift in how businesses and law firms purchase and use information technology. Cloud computing is effectively an out-sourcing model of IT hardware, software, and data, that relies on the internet and third party service providers to deliver all aspects of IT as a service. This shift comes with new risks and undefined intersections between traditional legal constructs around liability, regulatory compliance, confidentiality and data protection.
This program will:
- Describe cloud computing and its relevance to lawyers and their clients;
- Highlight the risks associated with movement of IT to the cloud; and
- Discuss key developments in the law, and ethical considerations that lawyers need to be aware of, arising from this new approach to IT
Panel:
Ande Smith, COO and General Counsel of Tilson Technology Management
