Pierce Atwood is pleased to announce that Trusts & Estates attorney Jana Magnuson has been named a firm partner. Jana regularly advises trustees with respect to trust administration and trust and estate settlement agreements. She represents fiduciaries and beneficiaries in trust modification actions before the probate courts and the IRS, and charitable entities on issues of organization and compliance. Jana works with individuals, couples, and families to create flexible estate plans, from the simple to complex, and further provides guidance with respect to the transfer of assets, including real estate, into trusts and entity ownership.
In 2015, Jana received Pierce Atwood’s McKusick Community Impact Award for attorneys, for her work providing pro bono estate planning to hospice patients of limited means. In 2016, the Maine Supreme Judicial Court recognized Jana with its Katahdin Counsel designation for pro bono service.
