James C. Baker Named Pierce Atwood Partner

Pierce Atwood is pleased to announce that James C. Baker, an attorney in the firm’s Business Practice Group, has been named partner at the firm.

Jamie practices out of Pierce Atwood’s Portsmouth, NH office, where he serves as corporate counsel for emerging, later-stage, and publicly-traded companies throughout their life cycle. Jamie represents buyers, sellers, issuers, investors, and underwriters in private placements, mergers, acquisitions, and public offerings. He also advises publicly traded clients with respect to compliance and reporting obligations under the Securities Act of 1933 and the Securities Exchange Act of 1934.

Practice Group Leader Scott E. Pueschel states, “Jamie is simply a terrific lawyer who has been delivering top-notch, partner-quality services to our clients for some time now. I know I speak for the rest of Pierce Atwood’s partners when I say that we are both excited and fortunate to have him join our ranks.”

Prior to joining Pierce Atwood, Jamie served as an in-house attorney for The Timberland Company (NYSE: TBL) and before that as a corporate associate at Choate, Hall & Stewart LLP and Testa, Hurwitz & Thibeault LLP.
