Pierce Atwood Names Five New Partners

2017 Pierce Atwood newly named partners

Pierce Atwood LLP is pleased to announce that the following attorneys have been named firm partners:

Michael Anderson focuses on general corporate, transactional, securities law, commercial finance, and antitrust, including mergers and acquisitions, equity investments, public and private offerings, securities law compliance, and corporate governance for both publicly and privately held companies. He currently serves on the Board of Trustees of the Maine JumpStart Coalition for Personal Financial Literacy, a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the financial knowledge of Maine students.

Kris Eimicke concentrates his practice on tax issues, with an emphasis on state and federal new markets tax credit (NMTC) programs, renewable energy tax credits, and historic rehabilitation tax credits. Kris also regularly advises businesses, tax-exempt organizations, and individuals on tax issues related to a variety of business transactions. He has been involved in nearly every transaction to successfully close under Maine's new markets capital investment program, either as counsel to the borrower, the investor, or the community development entity. Kris is an adjunct professor at the University of Maine School of Law, where he teaches corporate income tax.

Jana Magnuson works with individuals and families to create flexible estate plans, from the simple to complex, and provides guidance with respect to the transfer of assets, including real estate, into trust and entity ownership. She regularly advises trustees with respect to trust administration and trust and estate settlement agreements. Jana also represents fiduciaries and beneficiaries in trust modification actions before the probate courts and the IRS, and charitable entities on issues of organization and compliance. In 2015, Jana received a Pierce Atwood McKusick Community Impact Award for initiating a project that provides pro bono estate planning to hospice patients of limited means, helping them to prepare wills, powers of attorney, and other legal documents.

Nolan Reichl has represented some of the top institutional clients in Maine and the United States in numerous complex commercial actions, including Central Maine Power, Nestlé Waters, and Eli Lilly & Company.  Nolan has litigated and won cases in Maine’s state and federal trial courts, the Maine Supreme Judicial Court, and the United States Court of Appeals for the First Circuit. On four occasions, Nolan has been recognized by the Katahdin Counsel Recognition Program for providing at least 50 hours of legal assistance to Mainers who otherwise would not have access to counsel.

Mark Rosen represents companies and financial services firms in class action litigation, securities litigation, and complex and high-stakes business litigation, including breach of contract actions arising out of commercial transactions, business combinations, privatizations, and financings. Mark also represents owners and contractors in construction disputes and litigation concerning complex commercial projects and the award of government contracts.
