Where is your summer program going to be held in 2012?
Our summer program will be stationed in our Portland and Boston office and assignments may be from any of our offices.
How many summer associates do you expect to hire for summer 2012?
The number of summer associates we hire will not exceed the number of first year attorneys we are comfortable in projecting we will need in the fall 2013 and beyond. We expect to have 2 to 4 summer associates in the summer 2012 class.

What type of training does the firm offer its summer associates?
Summer associates receive hands-on learning by working with attorneys on actual client matters. We also hold a series of luncheon training sessions to offer, among other things, practical instructions on how to tackle difficult assignments, conduct comprehensive legal research, and produce top-quality written work product. In addition, our summer training program provides exposure to the various issues arising in the everyday practice of law. Practice group luncheons, in particular, offer the opportunity to hear about the different types of work we do and current developments in the law. Twice each month, the firm invites a featured guest speaker, such as a public policy leader or a lending client, to an all-attorney lunch.
