Experience

Tim is a member of the Energy Practice Group.  Since joining Pierce Atwood, Tim has worked on several state regulatory proceedings, including efforts to obtain regulatory approval for a major transmission construction project and the Maine Public Utility Commission’s inquiry into the state’s continued participation in ISO New England. He has also assisted clients with licensing and Federal Power Act compliance before the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission.  He is author of RenewNewEngland, Pierce Atwood’s blog covering renewable energy projects and policy in New England.

Before coming to the firm, he worked as a summer associate at Mintz Levin in Boston.  Prior to that, Tim worked at the Maine Sea Coast Missionary Society in Cherryfield, Maine, where he served as Site Coordinator for the EdGE Program and helped to establish a model for after school programs in rural areas.

Publications

Tim is author of renewNewEngland.com, a blog on renewable energy projects and policy in New England.  The blog highlights key developments in the region and explores how state and federal policies impact the development of renewable energy in the New England states.

Education

Tim received his J.D. from New York University School of Law (2008), where he was Senior Symposium Editor of the Journal of Legislation and Public Policy, and co-founder of the Information Law Institute Student Association.   He received his B.A., magna cum laude, in social studies from Harvard University (2003).
