Experience

For more than two decades, Pattie has brought a highly strategic and professional approach to her work in public policy development, governmental relations and regulatory issues. As an attorney with a practice focus on governmental relations, she has been on the forefront of developing many statewide statutory and regulatory policies, with an emphasis on environmental, energy and general business issues.  Prior to joining Pierce Atwood, she spent more than 14 years working with the oil and petroleum industry, including the Maine Petroleum Association and the Maine Oil Dealers Association. She also established the environmental advocacy program at the Maine Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

Honors and Distinctions

Pattie has received the Athena Award from the Kennebec Valley Chamber of Commerce for outstanding representation of business and the Hall of Fame Award from the Maine Tourism Association.

Professional Activities

Through her years of involvement with public policy development, Pattie has served on a wide variety of state level boards and commissions. She served as chair of the Fund Insurance Review Board for 10 years and acting chair of the Maine Oil Spill Advisory Committee, as well as a member of the Commission on the Codification of State Rules, the Environmental Priorities Project and the Maine Air Toxic Stakeholder Initiative. Pattie is currently a member of the Maine/New Hampshire Port Safety Committee, an advisory group to the U.S. Coast Guard.  She was also active in the seminar for the update on Environmental Laws in Maine for 2006.

Civic Activities

A native of Boothbay Harbor, Pattie is very active in civic and cultural affairs in the mid-coast area. She has served on a variety of municipal boards in Newcastle, where she resides with her husband, Ron, and earlier as a selectman in Boothbay Harbor. Additionally, she is a director of the Maine Tourism Association and has served on the board of the Lincoln County Community Theater and Orchestra.

Education

Pattie earned a B.S., magna cum laude, from Nasson College in Springvale, Maine, and a J.D. from Western New England College School of Law in Springfield, Massachusetts.
