Experience

Hallie is a member of the Energy Practice Group.  Since joining Pierce Atwood, Hallie's practice has included a wide range of litigation matters, including regulatory proceedings before the Maine Public Utilities Commission, the prosecution and defense of patent infringement cases, and products liability defense cases.  Hallie is currently the lead associate on several energy regulatory and transactional matters, including obtaining regulatory approval for a major transmission construction project and negotiating and finalizing transactions related to the implementation of advanced metering infrastructure.

Prior to law school, Hallie served as the Assistant Varsity Crew Coach at Harvard from 1998-2002.  Before coaching at Harvard, Hallie taught at St. George’s School in Newport, Rhode Island and was a varsity crew coach at the Lakeside School in Seattle, Washington.

Civic Activities

Hallie serves as a member of the Pro bono Panel of the Immigrant Legal Advocacy Project, which handles asylum cases for Maine's low-income non-citizens and their families, as well as certain defensive matters such as asylum or residency applications for those in removal proceedings.  Hallie is also a Board member and co-founder of the Portland Community Rowing Association, a not-for-profit organization dedicated to providing recreational and competitive rowing opportunities for Portland area youth and adults.

Publications

Hallie is co-author of renewNewEngland.com, a blog on renewable energy projects and policy in New England.  The blog highlights key developments in the region and explores how state and federal policies impact the development of renewable energy in the New England states.

Education

Hallie has an A.B. cum laude in Comparative Religion from Harvard University and a J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center.  While at Harvard, Hallie was a member of the Radcliffe varsity crew.  At Georgetown, Hallie worked as a law clerk on the successful defense of a federal white collar criminal matter.
