Michael's practice focuses primarily on general corporate and transactional matters, including mergers and acquisitions, private placement of securities and other securities regulatory matters, and corporate governance. In this capacity, Michael counsels companies of all sizes and in a variety of industries.
Michael joined Pierce Atwood LLP as an associate in 2009. Prior to joining Pierce Atwood, Michael served as law clerk to Chief Justice Leigh I. Saufley of the Maine Supreme Judicial Court. During law school, Michael was a summer associate at Pierce Atwood and worked as a legal intern for the Maine Attorney General's Office. Before pursuing a legal career, Michael worked in the marketing industry as a media buyer, negotiating and coordinating national advertising budgets for various companies.

- Representation of major northeastern dairy products company in spinoff of Midwestern affiliate
- Representation of buyer in purchase of a New Hampshire ski resort and related assets
- Negotiation of purchase and sale and related agreements and conducting due diligence efforts in connection with mergers and acquisitions
- Representation of issuers in all aspects of the private placement of securities, including preparation of disclosure and transactional documentation and regulatory compliance
