Pierce Atwood and Verrill Dana were pleased to host our 4th annual natural gas conference on October 6, 2016. This year's conference, Natural Gas: Where do we go from here?, brought together 16 panelists and 5 featured speakers to provide an informative view of the natural gas markets in Maine and beyond from a variety of perspectives.

We featured keynote speaker Patrick Woodcock, Director of the Governor's Energy Office and Former Maine Public Utilities Chair, Tom Welch as the lunchtime speaker. Other speakers included Maine Public Utilities Commissioner Carlisle McLean, President of the Northeast Gas Association Thomas Kiley and Maine Public Advocate Tim Schneider.

Pierce Atwood partner John Gulliver (retired) co-hosted and co-moderated the conference and partners Randy Rich and Sarah Tracy participated in the panel discussions.

The conference was approved for 6.5 hours of CLE credit and topics of discussion included:

  • Gas vs. Renewables – Allies or competitors?
  • Safety – Are we doing enough?
  • Pipeline Expansion – Do we still need it?
