John is an associate in both the Environmental & Land Use and Business practice groups. John works on a wide variety of commercial and environmental matters, offering his clients strategic advice and efficiently helping his clients obtain favorable results.
In his wide ranging environmental and land use practice, John assists clients with numerous issues including, but not limited to, hazardous substances and hazardous waste management, contaminated property remediation and cleanup, and land use and development permitting. John appears before planning boards, zoning boards, and other local licensing authorities, and works regularly with state and federal agencies in permitting and licensing proceedings.
John’s business practice serves both privately and publicly held companies throughout the business lifecycle. He represents start-ups, issuers, investors, buyers and sellers in business formation, mergers, acquisitions, public offerings and general corporate compliance. John also regularly assists his business clients with environmental compliance and development permitting.
On the whole, John’s experience in both environmental and business matters gives him a unique perspective that enables him to advise his business clients on environmental matters while keeping in mind the client’s business concerns, and vice-versa with his environmental clients.
While a law school student, John served as a judicial intern for United States District Court Judge Virginia M. Hernandez Covington of the Middle District of Florida in 2010, and as a Pierce Atwood Summer Associate in 2011. In addition, John volunteered his time teaching basic constitutional law to DC middle school students through GW law’s Street Law program.
