Development Permits for Grocery Store

The Maine Supreme Judicial Court recently denied the appeal of project opponents who argued that Hannaford’s proposed store violated the Town’s ordinance, including a requirement that the development relate harmoniously to the surrounding terrain and structures.  In addition to successfully defending the appeal, Pierce Atwood attorneys worked with Hannaford through the permitting process to obtain planning board approval for the new store and to develop the administrative record with the recognition that project opponents likely would challenge the approval in court.  Please click here if you are interested in reading the Court’s final decision in Bizier v.
