Efficiency Funds Available for Large Energy Consumers
The Efficiency Maine Trust issued an RFP for its Large Customer Program on November 8, 2012. This is a competitive program that allows businesses, institutions and governments to compete for funding for energy efficiency projects. Funding ranges from $100,000 to $500,000 per project for up to 50 percent of project costs.
The RFP is designed to support customers served by a Maine electric utility that are undertaking projects that will reduce electricity consumption and distribution system loading during peak summer demand periods. Projects can either be energy efficiency projects or distributed generation projects.
This RFP has a short time table. The RFP was issued on November 8, 2012. Those interested in competing for funding who have questions about the RFP must submit those questions by 5:00 p.m. on November 30, 2012. Completed proposals must be submitted by 3:00 p.m. on January 11, 2013.
