Katie Minervino Featured in Article Published by Funding Florida Legal Aid

In an article published by Funding Florida Legal Aid (formerly known as the Florida Bar Foundation), Pierce Atwood immigration attorney Katie Minervino shares her journey from her role as a Florida Bar Foundation Civil Legal Aid Summer Fellow to her leading Pierce Atwood’s business immigration practice. 

While a student at University of Miami School of Law, Katie completed a summer fellowship at the Florida Immigrant Advocacy Center, where she worked closely with Cuban immigrants on the complex rules governing Social Security eligibility and benefits. 

Seventeen years later, in her current business immigration practice, Katie’s continues to support those new to our country, and that, “every time an employee crosses a milestone it feels like a career highlight, given the impact and stakes for someone’s life here in the U.S.”

Pierce Atwood immigration practice leader Katie Minervino received an outstanding Service Award from the Immigrant Legal Advocacy Project for her pro bono representation of asylum seekers, and currently serves ILAP as a pro bono panel attorney. For several years, Katie was recognized by the Katahdin Counsel Recognition Program for her pro bono service, and she was the recipient of Pierce Atwood’s first-ever Scribner Firm Impact Award for her work keeping pro bono and community service top-of-mind at the firm. For the past 10 years, Katie has also held various leadership roles with the American Immigration Lawyers Association.
